Hell's Gate BC (#1 of 2)

This is Hell's Gate the narrowest point on the Fraser River.  They have a tram that takes you  500 FEET DOWN and ACROSS THE RUSHING RIVER to a cafe and shopping complex that overlooks the river (good thing).

This is the tram we're about to get on .

Looking down from the tram. (Well one of us was.)

The last day of the season (for the tram - sometime in October) they give everyone a pumpkin and they have this contest to see who gets it the closest to the circle - not sure what you win - probably a pumpkin! lol

Looking for salmon swimming up the river and waiting on lunch.

The two trams passing over the river.

This is what they built to help the salmon get by this part of the river.

They enter here and there are about 8 chambers throughout this so it's easier for them to swim.

And they come out here at the top and continue on up the river.

This is the train you take if you're on a land tour of Canada and Alaska (Rocky Mountaineer) - they kind of slow down and people on the train take pictures of Hell's Gate and we take pictures of them!

Will going out on the bridge - when you look down all you see is water, rushing water -  I made it half way (which I thought was pretty good).

Looking from the bridge back towards the cafe.
