Lake Mead, NV

Hi!

OK, I know I said Sedona was heaven - well Lake Mead is heaven with water!!  We are like 3 miles from the Hoover Dam and 20 miles from Vegas. We relaxed today and just enjoyed the view from our site at the RV Park.   Here are a few pic's of this also beautiful place.

Verde Canyon Train Ride & Blazin'M Ranch Dinner & Show

Hi

Yesterday we went on a 4 hour train trip aboard the Verde Canyon Railroad.  The train goes into the Verde Valley where there are old Indian ruins and follows the Verde River.  The train cars are very nice - they also have open air cars which is great for taking photos.   When you get on the train they serve champagne and have a very nice buffet table.  We did see some bald eagles and their nest.  Here are a few of the pics.

After the train ride we went to the Blazin'M Ranch where they have a chuckwagon supper and live western stage show.  The chicken and rib dinner was delicious even with the tin cup and tin plates!  The show was the best ever - the one guy sounded just like Tennessee Ernie Ford (am I dating myself! lol) and the lady sang like Patsy Cline and could she yodel.  But it was a lot of good ole country music for sure (you know like you can understand the words)!!  Anyway it made for a very good evening.

No sunset tonight - I figured this would be a good END!!

Visit to Chapel of the Holy Cross, Bell Rock & Slide Rock State Park - April 26, 2011

Hi!

Here are a few pic's of our travels around Sedona.  Chapel of the Holy Cross was beautiful - so serene.  From there you can see Bell Rock so we traveled over to see it.  Someone forgot to take her tennis shoes so we didn't get to hike too far to the rock but what we saw was great.  We had packed our lunch so we decided to go to Slide Rock State Park which was nice - they have 80 feet of water falls that the kids slide down and the answer is no!! lol

Here's the new house we bought - ya'all come visit!!

You see the road well that is the road the Pilot wants to take our 42 foot home out of Sedona on - the Co-Pilot said "NAY"!!

This is what it looked like on the GPS - and just remember that it's all mountain not flat like it looks -  Zack you would have had a ball!!

That's the end - no sunset today - had enough curves and mountains for a while! lol

The town of Sedona, AZ - April 25, 2011

Hi,

Well I think we've found heaven!!  This is the most beautiful place we've been.  Everywhere you look the scenery is breathtaking.  AND the shopping is not too shabby either! lol  Glad we have a week just to take everything in.  Here are a few pics (we took about 300 pics) of the town.

I'm beginning to understand the difference between a hill and a mountain!!

Had a great site right in town in like a valley.

Great big sycamore tree - great for the bird feeder.

The Cowboy Club where we had lunch.

This was the scenery all around.

Sunset in Sedona at the Airport (of course)

Have a great day - later  xoxo
