Our last day Connie took us on a tour of the town - talk about shops - wow - and yes we helped the economy! lol
This is the view from her condo - beautiful and very relaxing.
Some of the shops and flowers in Estes. The snow was still melting on top of the mountains so all the rivers and streams were over the norm.
One of the very nice restaurants we went to.
My kind of bar!!
Some pic's of the RV Resort we stayed at. Had a very nice lounge and rec room.
The lounge - Will's kind of bar!! lol
The End!!

Estes, CO July 8, 2011 #1
After spending a great 4th of July with Will's kids and family in Cheyenne we headed for Estes, CO where my Sis Connie has a condo. Talk about being up in heaven - we were literally way above the clouds.
We had a panoramic view of all the mountains from our site at the RV park - so beautiful.
Our first day we made a trip up Trail Ridge - I think we've now been to the highest peak in all CO. Will's use to one nail biter going up and down these mountains but TWO - lol He had his hands full with the 2 of us.
Spotted 2 herds of elk.
Made it to the top.
And it's just as pretty going down.

Lander, WY June 28, 2011 - #2
The next day we went to Sinks Canyon State Park. This is where the water disappears into the mountain and comes out several miles down the canyon. Very pretty and a very very high mountain.
Then we started UP the mountain.
Believe it or not we're not up there yet!!
Finally made it to the top and we saw the most beautiful Lake - the water so clear and very very cold. Lots of people camping - no electric or any facilities - what I call very rustic camping - you know like we did in the beginning and yes when we were uhh younger! lol
Karen, this pic is for you - this is the only bear we saw - so see no need to worry about a bear getting us - I even gave him a "bear hug" for you! lol

Lander, WY June 28, 2011 - #1
Well, what can I say - time flies when you're having fun!! Things have calmed down now so hopfully I can keep up with the blog. After our visit with my Mom and Sis Elizabeth in Idaho we started west to Cheyenne. Will wanted me to see the Red Canyon and Sinks Canyon and State park in Lander, WY so we stopped there for a few days. We stayed at the Sleeping Bear RV park which was up on a hill like and over looked the town.
This was our view from the campsite.
The drive to this canyon from Lander was very impressive - all the open land - then when we got there well the pictures just don't show how beautiful it was - and so huge.
Then we took a little side trip on some back roads and found this strange little town of Atlantic City. I just love the ABOUT 57 people live there. We saw several of the uhh townspeople and yes they even looked a little strange! lol We were going to stop at the saloon and have lunch but decided to go on since no one knew where we were and we weren't quite sure what and who was in the saloon! lol
This is an old mine - was interesting to see how it was built.
And then we saw one of my furry friends.
later xoxo
