Zion National Park, Utah #1

Hi - Here are a few pic's of our travels from Las Vegas to Zion, our RV site and travels around the town of Springdale.

So you come over this mountain and look down and wonder how are you getting thru these canyons.  So it was breath taking in more ways than one!

Then you come around a bend and see this - so beautiful.

The Pilot taking it easy after a day of driving.

Ok, this is for my Sis Karen.  These people were a few sites over from us.  The guy built this outdoor cage for their cat - it has a kitty door so it can go in and out of the motor home whenever it wants.  The lady told me that when they stop that the kitty cage goes up first even before the electric is hooked up since the cat is louder then she is!! So see Sis you just need a bigger cage for four of them! lol

Some of the shops in Springdale.

My "teddy bear" playing with the "big" bears at a lodge where we had lunch.

Another one of our houses!! Can you imagine waking up every
                                              morning and seeing that view.

Storms and clouds coming in - no sunset but really pretty.

Well, we've decided each state has it's own beauty, but Utah is really up there on top, the mountains are so majestic and with the sun shining on them the color on them changes every few minutes.  We've taken so many pictures and they're all so great that Zion rates 3 blogs - hope you enjoy -

VIVA LAS VEGAS

Hi from Las Vegas!!

Well, what can I say, there's nothing like going from "Heaven" to "Sin City" in one day!!!  lol

BUT the best part of this trip was that my Sis Elizabeth and her hubby Keith from Idaho met us at Lake Mead and then we came over to Las Vegas.  We couldn't have asked for a better "tour guide" of Las Vegas - she knew exactly where to go and what to do. (So for once I listened to my "younger" Sis!) It's almost like she'd been here many many times before - hummm.   But we had the best time - the weather was great, the food was great, and the company was fantastic!  Here are just a few of the pics that we took - some nobody will see - as they say - what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas -  enjoy.

Discussing our strategy of where to go on the strip.

Decided to go the old Vegas strip first -  I think I liked this best.

And here's why!!!  It was Elvis week - woo hoo - every year they hold the Elvis competition  and they come in from all over the world to compete - we might be in "Sin City" but I was in 7th heaven for sure.

We saw the last 21 in competition -

The light show on the old Vegas strip was great - this was the start of it.

AND after a LATE evening we went to Mandalay Bay for lunch the next day.

Our view from the terrace at lunch.

Our view of the "very nice" cabana's

Working on how to get this into or onto our home -  I was informed that it would not fit below with his tools!!   (party pooper for sure)

The Venetian Hotel  - very romantic.

Elizabeth and I deciding which Venetian Shop we would like to shop in.  As you can see Keith walking away and Will way way below taking the pic! lol

On the ceiling of the Lobby in the Venetian - so beautilful.

                                           Butterfly exhibit at the Venetian

Have never seen one of these - Don please let me know what it's called.

And only Vegas could have a mermaid at Bass Pro  - she's feeding the fish - which included the sharks!!

Tried to get a sunset picture to close out but as they say - the sun never sets in Vegas - this was the best I could find for a ENDing!! Couple guys I know enjoyed the uhhh sunset!!

P.S.  Thank you Sis and Keith for making our visit to Las Vegas a great time and a very great memory - and we thank Vegas for the $600 we walked away with - and not all at one time if the IRS is peeking!!

P.P.S.S.  Elvis is ALIVE!!!

Visit to Hoover Dam, NV

Hi!

Here are some pic's in and from the Dam.  Had a great day except for someone not getting through security the first time because of pocket knives in his pocket - so back to the car and then we made it the second time.  We still can't figure out what they thought he could do with those little knives.

Yesss Karen, I went back down!! lol

                                                             The generators.

View from the dam of the new bridge.

The walkway up to the new dam bridge they just opened 9 months ago.

The start of the walkway across.

This view from the bridge of the dam - awesome.

View of the cruise boat from the bridge

Here are a couple of cactus at the RV site - they are all starting to bloom - so pretty.

Have a great day.  later  xoxo

Our Cruise on Lake Mead, NV

Hi!

Here are some pic's of the 2 hour cruise we took on Lake Mead.  The cruise took us up to the Hoover Dam then back.   We wanted to get up front on the top deck where we could see everything but some kids beat us to it so we had to settle for the middle deck where the bar just happened to be - if you ever go on the cruise the margarita's are very very good!!

Can you tell the engineer took this pic! lol

Our turn into the dam - looked little from the boat but we made it.

That's the bridge we came across in the motor home and they also have a walkway for people to walk across - I have a feeling we're going to do that.

The sun setting on the mountains from our RV site.
